FUNDRAISING FOR GREAT CAUSES
The Sackville Co-op has just raised $1,000 for the Salem Elementary School for playground equipment. The students all brought up a cut-out of their hand with their name on it. The members bought one for a dollar, which we raised $500 and the other half came from our 50/50. Congratulations!
WELLINGTON FAMILY DAY
Here in Wellington, PE we have a family day/tent party on August 10th at the Wellington Co-op - free BBQ and lots of activities for all ages.
SCHOLARSHIPS & BURSARIES
Northumberland Co-operative Limited is pleased to announce they will be offering six (6) scholarships to students entering a post secondary program in the fall. The scholarships have been named to honor the work of Charles Butler and William Vickers, two men who made outstanding contributions to the development and growth of Northumberland Co-operative Limited. The McEwen Scholarship was founded by Co-op Atlantic to honor the memory of W.H. McEwen, the organization's first General Manager. McEwen considered education of the utmost importance, including topics which addressed how co-operatives fulfill their social and economic responsibilities to the community. The McEwen Scholarship is an entrance scholarship awarded to two undergraduate university students each year.
